Job summary

Oxford Solutions is assisting a client in Honolulu, HI to hire a Health & Safety Specialist for a 6-month contract. The role focuses on inspections, safety observations, and incident prevention, with a Monday–Friday night shift from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Local Hawaii candidates who can commute to the site are required.

The position supports OSHA compliance, hazard identification, and safety program activities, working with operations to promote safe work practices and maintain records.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of occupational health, safety, HSE, EHS, construction safety, or related experience.
• Experience performing workplace or field safety inspections.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general workplace safety practices.
• Ability to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Must be available to work Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM–2:00 AM.
• Must reside in Hawaii and be able to commute to the Honolulu worksite.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine shop, facility, and field safety inspections
• Accompany field crews to observe work activities and identify potential safety concerns
• Help ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and established HSE procedures
• Participate in hazard identification, risk assessments, and corrective actions
• Monitor safety performance and communicate potential issues or trends
• Assist with incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up
• Support site safety programs, meetings, and employee safety initiatives
• Help maintain safety documentation and inspection records
• Work with operations teams and supervisors to promote safe work practices
