Responsibilities

• Contribute to establishing, documenting, implementing, maintaining and improving the HSE Management System on the project
• Comply with HSE policies, regulatory requirements, and customer safety standards
• Identify hazards and risks, determine controls, and support audits and corrective actions
• Develop HSE programs to meet objectives and regulatory compliance
• Support site safety communications, engagement, and emergency planning
• Monitor, report, and communicate HSE performance; propose improvements
• Investigate and document all HSE incidents to drive learning
• Inspect Rail Operations Center facilities and stations per HSE and OSHA requirements
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support operational activities and leaders across the business

Job Description

This person will work from 6:00pm to 2:00am (Monday - Friday).

They will primarily be responsible for HSE field work. This will include:

• Shop inspections
• Going out in the field with our track guys for safety inspections
• Basically, going out with Hitachi's workers to inspect their work

Position responsibilities:

• Contribute to establishing, documenting, implementing, maintaining and continually improving the HSE Management System implemented on the Project in compliance with current FTA Standards, OSHA Regulations, GBMS Standards, and Local Procedures.
• Contribute to the implementation of the activities in compliance with HSE Policies, HSE Legislative requirements, HSE Customer Requirements and the HSE Management System of HRH.;
• Contribute to the completion of HSE hazard identification and risk assessment and the determination of necessary controls measures;
• Contribute to the implementation of the HSE Compliance and Management System Audits;
• Contribute to the development the HSE Programs to achieve the planned HSE Objectives and Targets and areas of regulatory compliance;
• Contribute to HSE Local Communication, Participation and Consultation including development and engagement of a site safety committee;
• Contribute to the identification of emergency scenarios and development of appropriate emergency response measures;
• Ensure the monitoring, reporting, and communication of HSE performance and provide recommendations and solutions in the event of negative trends;
• Ensure that all HSE accidents and incidents are reported, investigated and analyzed for the purpose of learning from incidents;
• Contribute to the identification of findings, nonconformities, and corrective and preventive actions;
• Ensure that Rail Operations Center facility and all stations are inspected on regular base in compliance with the HSE Management System and OSHA Regulations;
• Work cross-functionally to support a wide array of operational activities and engage leaders and employees from across the business.
