Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking an experienced O&M Senior HSE Advisor based in Pearl City, Hawaii. The role combines administrative and strategic duties, contributing to the HSE Management System and regulatory compliance for the project.

You will lead safety programs, engage stakeholders, and drive incident investigations across facilities and stations. The position requires 5–7 years in safety, OSHA 30, and strong communication/training skills, with a valid driver’s license and proficiency in MS

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years in a safety related role.
• OSHA 30 General Industry, or equivalent training and competency in General Industry Regulations.
• Experience in communicating, presenting and delivering training.
• Experience engaging stakeholders across disciplines in HSE programs.
• Experience implementing ISO 14001 and 45001 certified programs.
• Experience implementing site safety programs.
• Ability to inspect and evaluate workplace environments for compliance.
• Strong interpersonal skills for a safe work environment.
• Ability to prepare written reports and communications in the field.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint).
• Valid non-probationary Driver’s License.
• Ability to identify safety issues and conduct root cause investigations.

Responsibilities

• Establishing, documenting and improving the HSE Management System on the project.
• Implementing activities in line with HSE policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identify hazards and determine necessary controls.
• Conduct audits of the HSE Management System.
• Develop HSE programs to meet objectives and regulatory compliance.
• Engage site safety committees and local communications.
• Identify emergency scenarios and establish response measures.
• Monitor, report and improve HSE performance.
• Investigate and learn from incidents.
• Coordinate inspections of Rail Operations Center facilities and stations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support operations across the business.
• Deliver safety meetings.
