Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Health and Safety Advisor to support the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the HSE Management System for a rail operations project. The role ensures alignment with FTA Standards, OSHA Regulations, GBMS Standards, and local procedures, fostering a proactive safety culture through cross-functional engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices within operations.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety programs.
• Familiarity with HSE management systems and improvement.
• Ability to identify hazards and assess risks with controls.
• Experience supporting HSE audits and inspections.
• Strong communication for cross-functional engagement.
• Ability to deliver safety meetings and presentations.
• Clear incident documentation and corrective actions

Responsibilities

• Help develop, implement, and improve the HSE management system.
• Ensure activities align with FTA, OSHA, GBMS standards and local procedures.
• Identify HSE hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement controls.
• Plan and execute HSE audits for compliance verification.
• Develop and implement HSE programs to meet objectives and milestones.
• Promote HSE communication and site safety committee engagement.
• Assist in emergency planning and response measures.
• Monitor, report, and improve HSE performance; address negative trends.
• Ensure reporting and investigation of HSE accidents/incidents.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support operational activities.
• Deliver safety meetings/presentations to raise awareness.
