Job summary

HDR Rail EIT opportunities are open for recent graduates and early-career engineers. You will collaborate with mentors on rail projects serving Class I, short line and municipal clients across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or plans to pursue licensure.
• Basic knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• MS Office Applications experience.
• Strong interest in railroad design.
• Active participant in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, design, construction and delivery of rail infrastructure projects.
• Assist with technical deliverables, including calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, exhibits and cost estimates.
• Contribute to projects involving track, facilities, structures, civil infrastructure, environmental services, construction field services, and advisory support.
• Participate in site visits, field assessments, inspections, and project walkthroughs.
• Utilize engineering, design and analytical tools to support project development and delivery.
• Research and apply applicable codes, standards, regulations and client requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, environmental, advisory, technology and construction disciplines.
• Work alongside experienced engineers, project managers and technical specialists to develop your skills.
• Travel periodically for project meetings, field assignments, client-related activities and construction support.
