Job summary

HDR Rail EIT positions offer an entry to intermediate rail design career in a collaborative, employee-owned environment. You’ll gain experience on projects serving Class I railroads, short lines, and municipal clients across North America, with exposure to track, facilities, environmental services, and data analytics.

As an HDR Rail EIT, you’ll work with mentors and supervision to build your technical and professional skills while traveling for project meetings and field work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• EIT certification or pursuing licensure.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D and related design tools.
• Interest in railroad design and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, construction and delivery of rail infrastructure projects.
• Assist with calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering disciplines.
• Participate in site visits, field assessments and project walkthroughs.
• Apply codes, standards and client requirements in deliverables.
