Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Radiology Technologist for the Diagnostic Radiology Float Pool in Nashville. You will produce high-quality diagnostic images and support physicians in making timely decisions, while ensuring patient safety and data integrity.

Responsibilities include operating imaging technology, adhering to radiation safety protocols, and managing patient positioning and contrast administration for accurate results.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider must be obtained within 30 days of hire/transfer date.
• Cardiographic Tech credential from CCI obtained within 90 days.
• ARRT Radiography credential obtained within 90 days.
• ARDMS Sonography credential obtained within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-fidelity diagnostic images to support timely physician decisions.
• Strictly enforce radiation protection standards to ensure patient safety.
• Navigate PACS and other imaging workflows to keep patient data accurate and secure.
• Manage end-to-end imaging experiences, including precise positioning and safe contrast administration.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Produce high-fidelity diagnostic images that empower physicians to make accurate, timely medical decisions for every patient.
• Champion patient safety by strictly enforcing radiation protection standards and ensuring minimal exposure while maintaining superior image quality.
• Navigate advanced imaging technology and digital workflows (PACS) to ensure patient data is accurate, secure, and delivered promptly to the care team.
• Manage the end-to-end imaging experience, including high-precision positioning and safe contrast administration, to ensure patient comfort and clinical accuracy.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted required.
• One or more of the following required:
• Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's

degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required
