Job summary

Montefiore Nyack Hospital in Nyack, NY is seeking an evening front desk assistant for the Diagnostic Imaging department. The role supports physicians, radiologists and technologists, helps with scheduling and provides high-quality patient service in person and over the phone.

You will greet patients, verify orders in the HIS, enter orders when needed and coordinate follow-up imaging appointments with provider offices, ensuring smooth workflow and timely patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• General secretarial skills (keyboard skills, filing).
• Knowledge of PACS, Paragon, and Powerscribe.
• Radiology experience preferred.
• Computer literate, word processing skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for Diagnostic Imaging exams in the Paragon HIS.
• Rotate between Radiology reception area and six customer phone lines.
• Greets and directs patients and notifies modality of arrival.
• Verify proper order generation in HIS; enter orders when needed.
• Assist Radiologist track and recall abnormal patients and coordinate follow up.
• Answer phone within 3 rings using approved script.
• Distribute patient reports as needed.
