Qualifications

• Associate Degree required.
• General radiographic experience; new graduates may be considered.
• ARRT certification required.
• New York State Radiologic Technologist license required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs for diagnostic purposes.
• Positions patient on examining table and adjusts immobilization devices for optimal views.
• Explains procedures to reduce patient anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Maintains ALARA radiation safety practices and uses shielding as appropriate.
• May operate mobile x-ray equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient’s bedside.
