Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an experienced Radiology ASR Services Manager to oversee daily operations for scheduling, registration, and insurance verification within the Radiology Admin area.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in business/healthcare and at least 3 years of managerial experience. You will manage work queues, ensure compliance, coordinate with leadership, and support financial clearance and patient Liabilities collection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ managerial experience in Registration, Scheduling, and/or Insurance Verification process.
• Understanding of third-party payor and managed care requirements, procedures and regulations.
• Understanding of primary, secondary and tertiary insurance requirements, procedures and regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, initiative, teamwork and assertiveness.
• Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal skills, and strong organization skills.
• Flexibility of schedule; Holiday and/or weekend shift work, as well as after-hours coverage as required.
• Preferred: 7-10 years of Healthcare scheduling/registration experience; EPIC experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs, monitors and implements scheduling, registration, authorization guidelines, and collection of patient liabilities.
• Ensures scheduling verification, referral and pre-arrival registration processes are integrated and timely.
• Manages work queues and reports to ensure productivity and quality standards.
• Oversees escalation work queues and Radiology Services reports.
• Collaborates with Radiology management, physicians, and departments to ensure teamwork.
• Establishes contracted service agreements with outside agencies (e.g., Firefighters Program, Lung Cancer Screening).
• Ensures financial clearance is completed prior to patient arrival when possible.
• Oversees collection of patient liabilities as appropriate.
• Coordinates with Patient Access Center to ensure scheduling rules are followed.
• Maintains compliance with health and safety regulations and confidentiality standards.
• Directs performance evaluations, scheduling, and training; supports budgets and department goals.
• Maintains communication and professional standards across staff and leadership.
