Capitol Imaging Services in Metairie, LA is seeking a detail-oriented Scheduler for our Radiology Imaging Call Center. You will handle inbound calls from patients, providers, and healthcare professionals to schedule imaging appointments across our facilities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.

The role requires strong communication, familiarity with imaging protocols, and basic knowledge of insurance guidelines.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Answer high-volume inbound calls in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner.
Schedule imaging procedures (e.g., MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, Mammogram) accurately based on physician orders, patient availability, and modality requirements.
Verify patient demographics, contact information, insurance details, and referring physician information.
Provide patients with clear instructions regarding exam preparation, arrival times, and location details.
Coordinate with imaging centers, technologists, and front office staff to manage appointment availability and urgent scheduling needs.
Ensure appropriate exam selection based on provided clinical indications and scheduling protocols.
Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
Use scheduling software (e.g., RIS/PACS, EMR, or EHR systems) to accurately enter appointment data.
Assist with rescheduling, cancellations, and follow-ups as needed.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of imaging protocols, insurance requirements, and authorization procedures.
