Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami, FL is seeking a Radiology Office Assistant (Per Diem) to greet patients, verify exam orders, and check them into the Radiology system. You will answer phones and coordinate with Radiology staff to keep patient flow smooth.

Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred; candidate must maintain HIPAA compliance, handle outside images, and support service recovery with strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
• HIPAA knowledge preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
• Ability to learn new software applications.
• Excellent communication, phone etiquette, and customer service skills.
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families and direct them to the correct area.
• Verify exam orders and check patients in.
• Answer phones and maintain communication with Radiology staff.
• Upload/digitize outside images for comparisons and print CDs.
• Complies with governmental prescription requirements relative to receiving acceptable hospital services.
• Requests prescriptions and/or referrals for exam upon patient arrival and verifies order is signed by a physician.
• Floats, covers, and provides assistance to department; optimizes patient flow.
