Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher from an ARRT-approved radiologist assistant program.
• Graduate of an ARRT- or DOH-acceptable radiology assistant program meeting Florida requirements.
• Active Florida DOH Radiology Assistant certification.
• ARRT certification active and in good standing.
• American Heart Association BLS – active.
• Level II Background Check.
• Successful credentialing by NCHS Medical Administration.

Responsibilities

• Performs delegated clinical tasks under supervision of a Florida-licensed radiologist.
• Prepares patients for imaging and image-guided procedures by verifying orders, patient ID, history, labs and consents.
• Positions patients and assists with immobilization, monitoring, and comfort during procedures.
• Assists radiologist/technologist with setup, room readiness, and workflow coordination.
• Maintains accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Applies radiation safety practices and ALARA principles; ensures shielding and signage.
• Performs equipment and supply checks; reports malfunctions and coordinates service requests.
• Follows infection prevention standards and safe handling of sterile supplies.
• Communicates critical information to supervising practitioner; participates in handoffs.
• Responds to emergent situations with BLS within scope.
• Participates in quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory readiness activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned within training and scope of practice.
