Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Radiology Support Associate to assist Radiologic Technologists with imaging procedures and patient care. You will help prepare patients, manage department flow, and support a safe, clean imaging environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, one year of clinical experience, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire. IV course may be required by department and responsibilities include patient transport and quality control tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
• IV course completion as established by department.

Responsibilities

• Assist Radiologic Technologists in planning and executing imaging procedures.
• Report equipment failures immediately.
• Prepare patients for procedures (gowning, transfer to exam table).
• Coordinate department flow between outpatient and inpatient areas.
• Provide comfort-related support to patients as needed.
• Escort patients to and from procedure suites and assist with arrivals/departures.
• Promote team approach across radiology staff and clinicians.
• Engage in problem solving and system improvements to ensure quality care.
• Assist with room setup and sterile field as directed.
• Provide basic physical care under technologist guidance.
• Transport and handle patients per policy.
• Perform quality control testing and calibrations of equipment.
• After competency, perform IV placement for imaging procedures.
