Licensure and certification requirements include a state Radiographer license and ARRT registration; BLS within 6 months.

Qualifications

  • Radiographer license (state) required or as applicable.
  • ARRT Registered Technologist (RT) certification required.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 6 months unless exempted by department leader.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiologic procedures including general diagnostic, fluoroscopy, and C-arm as assigned.
  • Explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address patient questions.
  • Position patients and adjust exposure factors; provide radiation protection and safety.
  • Identify patients and label images; ensure exam accuracy and documentation in RIS; code procedures for billing.
  • Serve as a resource and preceptor; assist with accreditation efforts; work with providers independently.
  • Maintain records per regulations and ensure data entry into RIS.
  • Assist with transport, patient handling, and equipment operation; comply with age-specific care policies.
