Job summary

Ochsner Health in Lafayette, LA seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures and assist in radiology operations. The role requires completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program and ARRT/ARDMS/NMTCB certification with an active license in the state.

A 8‑week assignment and flexibility to work nights/weekends are possible. Experience in radiologic technology and strong patient communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program and/or CAHEA approved formal training in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• 2 years of experience in Radiologic Technology.
• Registered by ARRT and/or ARDMS and/or NMTCB and current state license.
• Advanced level certification(s) in additional modalities.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verify physician orders for accuracy.
• Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Operate imaging equipment independently per protocol (including IV placement).
• Review images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Perform quality control procedures per regulatory standards and address issues.
• Assist in department operations (inventory, scheduling, equipment maintenance).
• Adapt to patient populations, maintaining privacy and professional communication.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
