Job summary

Qualifications

• ARRT certification is required for radiologic practice.
• State radiologic technologist license is required where applicable.
• BLS certification is required for healthcare providers.
• MA Competency Checklist may be required to function as a Medical Assistant in clinic settings.

Responsibilities

• Maintains ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
• Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
• Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
• Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
• Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality; assists and instructs students and other Radiology Techs.
• Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.
• Follows infection control and sterile techniques; operates equipment and related information systems.
• Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
