Qualifications

• Six (6) years healthcare, clinical, or administrative experience/education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) or more years in healthcare, clinical, or administrative roles.
• Familiarity of clinic medical billing practices including coding, billing systems and documentation requirements.
• Knowledge of ambulatory care clinic practice management including patient care workflows and processes.
• Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology and clinical knowledge of clinic practice area.
• Working knowledge of medical center policies and procedures and related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments.
• Strong communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills with diverse staff and patients.
• Proven organizational skills and the ability to manage time and multiple projects.
• Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet software; data management and clinic IT tools.

Responsibilities

• Handle scheduling and preparation including insurance verification and record collection.
• Perform diagnosis triage for referrals to Radiation Oncology and maintain data bases for reporting.
• Act as mentor to others on the team in the department.
• Communicate clinic rules and regulations clearly and concisely.
• Support data analysis, reporting, and workflow improvements in the clinic.
