Job summary

RTX in McKinney, TX is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead radar power design for multiple variants of power distribution in a DoD radar product line. You will oversee development, production, and sustainment, interfacing with cross-functional teams and the production floor.

You will guide design maturity, address technical risks, and explore alternative power sources to meet customer needs while supporting growth and mission readiness.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Technical leadership experience including leading tough technical challenges.
• Electrical hardware design and development experience with adherence to design standards.
• Experience with production of new or significantly evolved power sub-assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Primary technical point of contact for development, production and sustainment of power solutions.
• Provide recommendations on design improvements, risks and maturation of product line power solutions.
• Drive resolution of technical issues for power sub-assemblies.
• Collaborate with production factory to optimize build processes for power sub-assemblies.
• Work with cross-functional design team to integrate next generation power solutions.
• Lead investigations of alternative power sources for different platforms.
• Support sustainment and evaluate repaired units for field return.
• Plan and coordinate hardware design efforts.
• Occasional travel to support customers at various sites.
