Job summary

Carolina Handling is seeking an Applications Engineer in our Intralogistics Solutions Group to coordinate technical activities across departments during project implementation and to develop necessary technical requirements. You will work closely with Sales and Operations to support the sale of racking and non-automation material handling solutions.

The role involves assisting sales with specifications, completing site surveys, building BOMs and quotes, and delivering demos and training.

Qualifications

College degree or equivalent experience required.
2-4 years of experience in material handling sales or other similar industries preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Familiarity with AutoCAD preferred.
Proficient in basic pricing and bill of materials preparation for quoting purposes.
Visio or other related flow diagram software preferred.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
Adept at assimilating and disseminating information in a professional manner.
Demonstrate a team approach and work with others in pursuing common goals.
Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate resourcefulness and judgment to resolve routine problems relating to assigned projects.
Good organizational skills with high-level self-structure, producing accurate work with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage large volumes of information accurately and effectively.

Responsibilities

Assist sales representatives with system specification analysis to provide clear, documented, and coordinated requirements.
Support site surveys for projects, complete administrative requirements to build accurate bills of material and quotes.
Partner with core sales representatives to evaluate customer requirements and present value-added products and services.
Conduct compelling demos, assist with sales presentations, and train the sales force as needed.
