Job summary

Carolina Handling, LLC in Atlanta, GA, is seeking an Automation Engineer to support our Intralogistics Solutions Group. You will promote the company, work with Sales and Operations, and coordinate technical activities across departments to define requirements for Automation Systems, AGVs, and AMRs.

The role involves sales support, site surveys, quotes, PM coordination, and research into emerging automation solutions.

Qualifications

College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
2–4 years in material handling sales, automation, or similar industries.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Project.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

Assist sales representatives with system specification analysis to provide clear, documented, and coordinated requirements.
Support Site Surveys for projects, complete administrative requirements to build accurate bills of material and quotes.
Assist with preparing quotes for complex projects.
Partner with core sales representatives to evaluate customer requirements and present value-added products and services.
Conduct compelling demos, assist with sales presentations, and train the sales force as needed.
Review and design solutions, create facility layouts, prepare bills of material, collect vendor pricing, and support customer proposals.
Liaise with other departments and external sources to address technical questions and assist with any impacts on the implementation schedule.
Coordinate with Carolina Handling, Raymond, and other vendor personnel during initial site-related activities to identify technical requirements.
Assist Project Managers in managing and implementing solutions by coordinating with sales representatives, vendors, and customers to ensure projects are ordered accurately, installed on time, and completed within budget.
Maintain a working knowledge of all ISG Solution-related opportunities requiring continued support to move them through the Sales Pipeline.
Research and recommend emerging technical solutions.
Develop and maintain knowledge of automation, warehouse systems, related components, and sales/commercial acumen.
Attend workshops, trade shows, and seminars to stay current on industry trends and changes.
