Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to support first article products for the hardware engineering team in Pittsburgh, PA. You will weld, fabricate, and document shop work as part of an integrated R&D effort for autonomous technology.

Successful candidates have 5+ years welding in rapid prototyping, can operate WaterJets, Lasers, and Plasma systems, and can read complex drawings. The role offers a hybrid schedule with strong growth and safety commitments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years welding experience in R&D or rapid prototyping.
• Proficient in MIG, TIG and Stick welding.
• Able to read and interpret layouts, schematics, drawings, and weld symbols.
• Capable of programming/operating fabrication equipment (WaterJets, Lasers, Press Brakes, Plasma, Powder Coating).
• Hands-on with instrumentation, QC tools, multimeters and precision measurement.
• Document and archive tooling designs and shop processes.
• Familiar with SolidWorks or Catia for fixtures and components.

Responsibilities

• Support development of Aurora’s autonomous technology in fabrication shop.
• Collaborate with Hardware Engineering and cross‑functional teams.
• Maintain safety standards and rigorous documentation; meet timelines.
• Operate with minimal supervision; uphold integrity and respect.
• Improve shop operations with the R&D Manager and teams.
• Assist other R&D shop units to achieve team goals.
• Pursue professional growth and continuous learning.
