Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking an R&D Test Engineer to develop and automate test processes, ensuring reliable, repeatable results and compliance with UL, CSA, and IEC standards.

You will work under laboratory management and automation engineers to maintain a safe, efficient test environment and support certification activities. You will contribute to test automation, upgrade lab systems, and provide technical support throughout the development cycle, collaborating with design teams to improve product

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with 1+ year test engineering/automation experience or an Associated degree with 5+ years related experience.
• Hands-on experience with NI LabVIEW, PLC programming, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DeviceNet, Profibus).

Responsibilities

• Develop and automate test processes to improve reliability, repeatability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with automation engineers to support test development using NI LabVIEW and PLC programming.
• Prepare accurate and comprehensive test reports for internal stakeholders and external certification bodies.
