Job summary

Ralliant seeks a Hardware Test Engineer to validate embedded hardware and software interactions. You will design test plans, automate tests, and analyze results to support reliability, quality, and regulatory compliance across utility/industrial products.

You will collaborate with firmware, design, and project teams, set up environmental test setups, and drive continuous improvement in test coverage and efficiency. Excellent documentation is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
2+ years of related experience required.
Strong experience in hardware and embedded system testing, including interaction with firmware/software.
Experience with test automation, including Python or similar scripting languages.
Hands-on in designing and qualifying test fixtures and automated setups.
Proficiency with test instrumentation (oscilloscopes, DMMs, sensors, environmental equipment).

Responsibilities

Design, develop, execute, and document test plans for embedded hardware and systems.
Develop and maintain automated test solutions to improve coverage and efficiency.
Perform electrical, firmware/software, mechanical, environmental, and system testing.
Set up lab equipment and environmental test chambers.
Lead RCCA investigations and track actions using defect-tracking systems (JIRA).
Coordinate regulatory and compliance testing with third‑party labs (UL, CSA, TÜV).
Ensure tests and results comply with internal quality processes and document known issues.
