Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Research & Development Simulation Engineering Intern for a 12-week summer program based at the Raleigh, NC office. The role focuses on supporting power distribution simulations within the Electrification and Automation division, offering hands-on experience and exposure to Future Grids technologies.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with 3D modeling tools (Creo, NX, SolidWorks).
• Ability to work on-site full-time (40 hours/week) for the 12-week summer internship.
• Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as relocation is not provided.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• Program requires continuing enrollment during the assignment; other Early Career opportunities may be available.

Responsibilities

• Support geometry simplification of standard mechanical assemblies to improve simulation performance and turnaround time.
• Simplify and prepare 3D designs in NX for use in simulation workflows.
• Support mechanical design activities within NX to enable simulation and analysis efforts.
• Collaborate with sensor simulation engineers to support simulation requests and design updates.
• Assist with organization and documentation of simulation-ready models and design files.
