Siemens Mobility is seeking a Research & Development Simulation Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience supporting power distribution systems and Future Grids technologies in a collaborative, impact-driven environment.

Based in Raleigh, NC for a 12-week summer internship, the role requires full-time on-site work (40 hours/week) while enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with 3D modeling tools (e.g., Creo, NX, SolidWorks).
• On-site availability for a 12-week summer internship (40 hours/week).
• Located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC with no relocation support needed.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support geometry simplification of standard mechanical assemblies to improve simulation performance.
• Simplify and prepare 3D designs in NX for simulation workflows.
• Assist mechanical design activities within NX to enable simulation and analysis.
• Collaborate with sensor simulation engineers to support requests and design updates.
• Organize and document simulation-ready models and design files.
