Job summary

Siemens is seeking students for a Research & Development Simulation Engineering Internship in Raleigh, NC, starting May or June 2027. You will gain hands-on experience with power distribution systems while exploring Future Grids technologies in a collaborative, impact-driven environment.

The role requires pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, on-site full-time work for 12 weeks, and proximity within 50 miles of Wendell, NC.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with 3D modeling tools.
• Ability to work on-site full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship.
• Must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Enrollment must continue during the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Support geometry simplification of standard mechanical assemblies to improve simulation performance and turnaround time.
• Prepare 3D designs in NX for use in simulation workflows.
• Support mechanical design activities within NX to enable simulation and analysis efforts.
• Collaborate with sensor simulation engineers to support simulation requests and design updates.
• Assist with organization and documentation of simulation-ready models and design files.
