Job summary

LyondellBasell is seeking an R&D Operations Specialist to lead and support pilot plant operations, with emphasis on safety, procedures, and continuous improvement at the HTC site. You will coordinate with operators, owners, HSSE, and process safety teams to ensure reliable, compliant operations.

The role requires strong communication skills, significant hands-on experience in lab and pilot-plant environments, and the ability to mentor staff while driving Operational Excellence initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience applying Process Hazard Analyses and Management of Change in a chemical plant context.
• Experience investigating incidents and promoting learning actions.
• Strong leadership and collaboration with operators and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Process Hazard Analyses, Management of Change, and Incident Investigation activities.
• Ensure procedures owned by the Operations Supervisor are current and accurate; improve and develop procedures for efficiency and safety.
• Support HSSE and site Process Owners to ensure procedures meet regulatory requirements and fit for purpose.
• Collaborate with Operators to ensure operator qualification and certification programs.
• Mentor/train personnel to maintain compliance with HSE requirements.
• Develop eLearning content for Operations training.
• Serve as backup for ATR Smart Procedures system and document control.
• Be a member of the site Process Safety Team and Operational Excellence Team.
• Lead self-assessment activities and provide supervision support when needed.
