Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of R&D experience in electrical power equipment.
• Experience in mechanical design of Low/Medium Voltage ANSI switchgear, MCCs, or similar equipment.
• Knowledge of simulation software (dielectric, thermal, structural).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and PLM tools – SolidWorks or Creo with Windchill.
• Knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, and UL standards.
• Experience supporting type tests at internal/external labs.
• Travel up to 10% (domestic and international).
• Must have work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of new product designs of non-arc and arc resistant medium-voltage switchgear (Metal-Enclosed, Metal-Clad).
• Engage in cost optimization initiatives and design enhancements to maintain technology leadership.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Project Managers, and R&D Engineers throughout the lifecycle.
• Validate product robustness through simulations, analyses, and physical testing.
• Organize and conduct design reviews evaluating feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation including manuals, records, and test reports.
• Provide technical guidance on supplier selection and component evaluation.
