Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovation in New Jersey is seeking a 2027 Co-op / Intern for wound closure and healing product development. You will join a cross-functional team of scientists and engineers working on antibacterial technologies and cardiovascular surgery.

The program runs Jan–Jul/Aug 2027 or May–Dec 2027, with 40 hours weekly commitments. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree, with GPA 3.0+ preferred.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must have transportation to and from work daily
• Ability to relocate to on-site laboratory
• Actively enrolled in accredited university for duration of internship
• GPA 3.0+ preferred
• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status
• Must be able to work full-time (40 hrs/week) during term

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on laboratory work in engineering labs
• Utilize bespoke machining processes for medical device builds
• Attend VOC labs with surgeons
• Collaborate with engineers and outside suppliers on project activities
• Design and study key project protocols
• Document test methods and generate final reports
• Create 3D models and 3D print fixtures for testing
