Job summary

WellMed, part of the Optum family, seeks a Quality Medical Assistant to support clinic operations and drive quality care across payer populations. You will assist with health screens, coordinate with physicians, and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR while prioritizing confidentiality and infection control.

You are expected to mentor others, demonstrate strong communication, and manage documentation and data submissions per policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years as a certified MA or 6+ years total MA experience (2+ years certified).
• Current BLS certification.
• Proven ability to mentor others.
• Expertise with electronic health records (EHR).
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Calm, effective leadership in emergencies.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• TB screening and immunization proof required.

Responsibilities

• Partner with physicians to assist patients with health screens and preventive care.
• Outreach to external offices to obtain notes and reports.
• Update EMR with completed preventive health screens and measures.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team and update provider.
• Maintain tracking logs for patient outreach and care status.
• Participate in quality initiatives to improve outcomes.
• Submit data to external agencies as directed.
