Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Quality Manager to ensure quality standards are met and maintained by implementing processes, audits, and ISO 9001:2015 registration. You will drive corrective actions, manage internal and external audits, and ensure product quality across the production facility.

You will partner with production managers to maximize quality, analyze data, and lead improvement initiatives while maintaining regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required.
• 5–10 years of manufacturing experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire compliance with quality standards.
• Proven track record of problem-solving.
• Thorough knowledge of quality standards and methodologies.
• Ability to learn proprietary software programs and leverage enterprise complaint management software.
• Professional training and quality certifications (e.g. Six Sigma, ISO Certification) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, approve, and execute facility and corporate SOPs for site implementation.
• Coordinate and execute internal, customer, supplier, subcontractor, and regulatory audits.
• Serve as the ISO 9001:2015 management representative and lead internal ISO audit program.
• Responsible for the mill Quality Management System.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with current policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate and investigate detected risks or failures, complaints, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Work with production managers to maximize product quality and reliability and minimize cost.
• Track, analyze, and lead initiatives for all internal quality and customer complaint issues.
• Determine, document, and approve site-specific or one-time occurrences such as protocols, deviations, waivers, or releases.
• Leverage enterprise technology to analyze quality complaints, track corrective and preventive actions, and isolate defects.
• Execute facility improvement initiatives based on performance data.
• Provide tools and training for quality management and quality improvement to facility staff.
