Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Quality Manager in East Syracuse, NY to lead the quality team and own AS9100 and ISO 9001 systems. You will drive quality performance, strengthen processes, and partner with engineering and production leadership to resolve issues.

The role requires extensive quality leadership in aerospace, audits, and continuous improvement. It is an on-site, day-shift position with a strong focus on leadership and results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years in quality engineering leadership, aerospace preferred.
• 10+ years in engineering leadership and AS9100 experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and improvement of AS9100 QMS.
• Plan and conduct internal/external audits for AS9100/ISO 9001.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to set quality controls.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma to reduce defects and waste.
• Train and mentor staff on quality procedures and compliance.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the AS9100 quality management system.
• Plan and conduct internal and external audits to support AS9100, ISO 9001, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Partner with engineering and production teams to establish quality controls and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for nonconforming products and audit findings.
• Analyze quality data to identify trends, reduce defects, and improve process performance.Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and improve product quality.
• Train and mentor employees on quality procedures, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement practices.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in quality engineering leadership, preferably within aerospace manufacturing.
• At least 10 years of engineering leadership experience and 10 years of hands-on AS9100 experience.
• At least six years of quality auditing experience.
• Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Experience with GD&T, inspection methods, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively across the organization.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred.
