$130000 - $175000 per year | Long Beach, CA | On-site | Permanent
Based in Long Beach, California, we are a Tier 1 aerospace and defense manufacturer producing highly-engineered, flight-critical hardware for space and defense programs. Our Long Beach site specializes in pressure vessels, composite overwrapped pressure vessels (COPV), and propulsion systems supporting launch vehicles, satellites, and defense platforms. Much of the hardware we build has been on our customers' platforms for years, making us a premier independent source in the region.
As Quality Manager you will lead the quality function for pressure vessels, COPV tanks, and propulsion hardware supporting space and defense programs, ensuring conformance to customer, AS9100, and regulatory requirements.
Serve as an active Material Review Board member — disposition nonconforming hardware as scrap, rework, or use-as-is in accordance with internal and customer requirements.
Drive corrective and preventive action using 5-why, fishbone, and 8D methodologies to eliminate repeat nonconformances.
Establish inspection requirements and mandatory inspection points, approve manufacturing routings, and develop customer inspection and control plans for pressure-critical hardware.
Lead FMEAs, track quality performance trends, and conduct statistical analysis (SPC) to support KPIs and QMS compliance.
