Overview

Job Title: Quality Improvement-Consultant
Location: Methodist Hospital
Department: Cardiology Service Line - System
Position Status: Full-Time

Position Overview:
The Consultant in Quality Improvement develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities for designated patient populations. Working independently, the consultant leads specific work groups and performs ongoing analysis of gaps in clinical care and barriers to optimal outcomes, aligning interventions with the organization’s strategic goals. The role facilitates the organization’s performance improvement processes in collaboration with project team leaders and conducts training and educational programs for staff and physicians in performance improvement methodologies, data analysis, work simplification, and related subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute CQI initiatives targeted at improving clinical quality and patient safety.
  • Perform detailed analysis of care gaps and barriers, recommending actionable solutions.
  • Lead and facilitate performance improvement projects, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff and physicians on performance improvement tools, data analysis, and work processes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree in clinical healthcare or business preferred.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in quality improvement or healthcare performance management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of data entry systems such as NCQA IDSS/ISS tools, electronic health records, HEDIS software, or supplemental databases preferred.
  • Occasional local travel required; no overnight travel.
