Job summary

General Motors offers an internship in Quality Engineering at multiple U.S. locations. The intern engages in data-driven problem solving, liaises between production, engineering, and suppliers, and supports quality processes across the plant.

Responsibilities include containment of non-conforming products, communicating issues to the Quality Systems Manager, and aiding in launches of new products while adhering to GMS standards. Start dates May 24 and June 14, 2027, onsite roles available.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Quality Engineering.
• Must be graduating between August 2027 and June 2029.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Must be willing to work in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with production and engineering on part measurement results to part print specifications to assure quality and reliability.
• Ensure effective containment and resolution to identified non-conforming product.
• Communicate emerging issues for responsible components daily to Quality Systems Manager.
• Coordinate repair, rework, and containment activities for identified spills.
• Validate supplier scrap.
• Work with Supplier Practical Problem Solving (SPPS) process on supplier related issues.
• Support the PTR Process by running PTR’s and evaluating impact on the product / function.
• Support launch activities of new products.
• Support the implementation and effective adherence to all elements within GMS.
