Job summary

United Launch Alliance in Decatur, Alabama, is seeking a Quality Engineer to serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related issues, supporting production operations and driving continuous improvement in a high-performance aerospace environment.

Responsibilities include nonconformance documentation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, FAI reports, and 5S walkdowns, with remote support as needed. Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 2+ years’ experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and/or issue resolution, preferably within a production or manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
• Ability to support remotely outside of working hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Process nonconformance documentation and perform evaluations to restore product conformity.
• Review production planning for accuracy and adequacy to ensure quality data is properly captured.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement Corrective Actions.
• Write, issue, and review First Article Inspection (FAI) reports in accordance with applicable standards.
• Perform planning reviews to ensure inspection needs and requirements are fully addressed.
• Conduct regular 5S walkdowns to maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and other assigned quality-related tasks.
• May be required to support remotely outside of standard working hours as needed.
