Job summary

United Launch Alliance in Denver, CO is seeking a Quality Engineer 2 to advance quality standards across materials and processes. You will collaborate with engineering, supply chain and manufacturing to ensure contract requirements are met and that products pass inspection with precision.

Responsibilities include audit execution, nonconforming material handling, and corrective action programs while supporting design and testing activities. On-site work with up to 25% travel is typical.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • Knowledge and understanding or experience with one or more of the following: composites, machined components and assemblies; quality metrics development and analysis; contract/SOW generation & review; root cause analysis; corrective action-preventive action disciplines; cause and effect analysis; formal auditor training in ISO9000/AS9100; project management skills; green belt training/certification; SPC.

Responsibilities

  • Performs development, modification, application and maintenance of quality standards and protocol for processing materials into finished products.
  • Collaborates with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to ensure quality standards and contractual requirements are flowed down to suppliers.
  • Implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating precision and accuracy of products and equipment.
  • Audits processes, reviews build documentation, and performs walkdowns of hardware to verify conformance.
  • Controls and dispositions nonconforming products and drives corrective actions and reliability improvements.
  • Collaborates on design or specification of inspection/testing mechanisms and supports quality assurance tests.
  • Communicates quality data to empower risk management and continuous improvement across teams.
  • May specialize in supply chain, design, incoming material, production control, evaluation and reliability, inventory, AS9100 auditing, customer engagement, or R&D.
