Johnson Controls has an opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer in Lubbock, TX. The role drives quality goals, performs root-cause analysis, and collaborates across engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing to prevent issues and improve processes.

The position requires a BS in engineering or related field with 0–3 years of experience, and involves data analysis, audits, and DOE planning to support continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering, quality management or other technical discipline.
• 0-3 years of industry experience, internships, co-ops or collegiate projects within manufacturing or quality.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and root cause of quality issues.
• Knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001.
• Experience or knowledge of working with notified bodies / approval / audit agencies.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Effectively operate in facilitate cross-functional teams.
• Ability to communicate with multiple cultures/regions.
• Candidates must exhibit a high-level of self-motivation, sense of urgency and comfortable making recommendations across broad teams.
• Open to occasional business travel (domestic and international)
• Exceptional mechanical aptitude.
• Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous audit experience a plus
• Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to construct and present information to a wide range of audiences internally and externally.
• Minitab or equivalent statistical analysis software (current version) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive the execution of quality goals and objectives and meet internal/external customer expectations.
• Identify causes of potential product/process failures and drive corrective actions.
• Lead cross-functional teams to elevate Quality delivery using audits and statistical tools.
• Support action planning and root cause analysis for top plant issues.
• Prepare reports for internal and customer use and monitor KPI performance.
• Participate in regular audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and customer service to improve processes, procedures and products.
• Develop quality plans and process controls to ensure quality standards are met.
• Facilitate PFMEA teams and contribute to DOE plans for continuous improvement.
• Provide quality support to NPI projects and assist with NCR investigations.
