Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Lubbock, TX, seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead quality improvements across supplier processes and PPAP activities. You will drive CoPQ reduction, implement pFMEA, Six Sigma, and 8D problem-solving, and sustain ISO 9001 compliance while supporting NPI programs.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking).
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of related Quality Engineering experience in an ISO/TS certified manufacturing environment.
• Strong background of root cause problem-solving including knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma, Mistake Proofing, and SPC tools and techniques.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Prior experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) techniques including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
• Demonstrated strengths of resiliency and process focus implementing Quality standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead improvement of supplier and incoming inspection processes to achieve Zero Defects.
• Lead cross-functional teams to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality and supplier rejects.
• Improve and sustain ISO 9001 quality management system; conduct internal/audit support.
• Plan and oversee analysis, inspection, testing, and process controls for supplied quality.
• Lead APQP stage gate deliverables including PPAP for new products/processes.
• Drive calibration and metrology system improvements.
• Maintain knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
