Job summary

Materion Brush in Newton, MA, is seeking a Quality Engineer to oversee QA for customer orders in semiconductor and aerospace sectors. You will collaborate with production, engineering and customer service to address quality concerns, manage change control, and implement corrective actions in a metals manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 4–5 years in a quality-related role with metals is required.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 for semiconductor/aerospace apps.
• Proficient in SPC, root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
• Experience with JMP or Minitab.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and quality mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
• Experience with SAP or similar systems.
• Export compliance eligibility for ITAR/EAR is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain QA protocols for customer specs and industry standards.
• Support customer quality inquiries, change control, audits, and provide timely updates.
• Investigate quality issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain records of customer quality agreements, change controls, and feedback; prepare reports.
• Collaborate with sales, production, engineering, procurement, and planning to integrate quality into manufacturing and delivery.
• Provide customer-specific training on quality standards and best practices.
• Identify opportunities for continual process improvement to enhance product quality and satisfaction.
