Job summary

Rogers Group, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician in Roanoke, VA to support Virginia SMA operations. The role tests materials for compliance, provides technical support, and ensures safety and environmental standards are met.

Strong attention to detail and communication are essential. The candidate will maintain test records, operate equipment, and contribute to a reliable, quality-driven production environment with a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Computer and data entry skills required.
  • Skilled in operating quality control lab equipment and testing materials.
  • Knowledge of aggregate testing procedures including gradations, XRF/chemistry testing, crushed count, deleterious count, basic geological knowledge.
  • Ability to problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds continuously throughout the day.
  • Basic mechanical/repair skills.
  • Basic math and computing/technology skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills; able to work on a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Able to provide valid documentation for I-9.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Rogers Group, Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN based in Roanoke, VA. This candidate will be supporting our Virginia SMA operations and should have experience in aggregate quality control. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and will be responsible for a wide variety of quality control efforts including but not limited to testing materials produced to assure compliance with internal and external specifications, providing technical services and support to internal and external customer, supporting efforts to guarantee compliance with environmental agencies, understanding of chemical analysis, attention to detail, and maintaining control charts and other required records. The potential candidates for the role must be enthusiastic and have an uncompromising emphasis on safety.


Job Details


  • Wages starting at $18.00/hr for entry level candidates. Some positions require no experience and Rogers Group will train.

  • Higher pay potential for verifiable experience.
