Job summary

Rogers Group, Inc. in Cross Plains, TN, is hiring a Utility / Ground Technician for the Cross Plains Quarry and crushing plant. The role involves general labor, material movement, maintenance, and supporting production duties with a strong emphasis on safety.

The ideal candidate will operate equipment such as a bobcat, skid steer, and haul truck; assist with plant maintenance, welding/cutting as needed, and endure weekend and overtime schedules. Pre-employment drug screening is required.

Qualifications

• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
• Ability to perform a variety of duties, some which may include plant clean-up, production, maintenance, heavy equipment operation, and other duties as assigned.
• Previous welding and cutting experience preferred.
• Experience operating heavy equipment – bobcat, skid steer, and haul truck.
• Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
• Ability to learn quickly and understand safety instructions.
• Willingness to work weekends and overtime; able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Plant maintenance experience and aggregate operations experience are pluses.

Responsibilities

• General plant/mines labor and clean-up of production areas.
• Assist with plant maintenance, cutting, welding, and bearing/roller changes.
• Operate equipment as needed – bobcat, skid steer, haul truck.
• Fill in during vacations and peak production times.
• Run water truck to control road dust.
• Report equipment problems and perform pre-shift inspections.

Rogers Group is currently seeking candidates for a UTILITY / GROUND TECHNICIAN position at the Cross Plains Quarry, located in Cross Plains, TN. The successful candidate for this role will be able to complete a variety of labor and operation tasks in the quarry and crushing plant. This individual will be responsible for helping to move materials, stockpiling, plant maintenance and clean-up, and supporting various other production duties. They must have a strong commitment to safety excellence.

JOB DETAILS:

• Full-Time
• Day Shift
• Wages starting at $23.00/hr

JOB RESPNSIBILITIES:

• General plant / mine labor and clean-up of production areas, including shoveling stone from around conveyors and assisting with plant clean-up and operations.
• Ability to perform plant maintenance work – cutting, welding, changing rollers & bearings, belt splicing.
• Running various pieces of equipment as needed – such as a bobcat, skid steer, and haul truck. Dozer, track hoe,
• Being trained in various production positions and filling in as needed during vacations, absences, and increased production demand times.
• Run water truck to control dust on roadways.
• Report equipment problems and identify them to management; help maintain quarry and equipment.
• Complete daily inspections and equipment pre-shift report – if applicable.
• Assist other workers as needed or directed.
• Other duties, assignments, and requirements as determined by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
