Job summary

Rogers Group, Glade Hill, VA, is hiring for a General Utility Operator on a full-time day shift. Training is provided for entry-level candidates, with higher pay for skilled heavy equipment operators. Overtime, strong medical and retirement benefits, and belt-line maintenance tasks are included.

Jacks Mountain Quarry – Rogers Group Inc. – Glade Hill, VA

Full-Time

Day Shift

Rogers Group is currently seeking a General Utility Operator in the Glade Hill, VA area for our Virginia SMA operations.

• Wages starting at$21.00/hr. for entry level candidates. Some positions require no experience and Rogers Group will train.
• Higher pay for skilled operators of heavy equipment with quarry and mining experience. Overtime available and extensive medical and retirement benefits. Operate haul trucks to remove overburden and stripping material for quarry production.
• Overtime available.
• General plant/mine labor and clean-up of production areas, including shoveling stone from around conveyors and assist with plant clean up and operations
• Being trained in various other entry level production positions and filling in as needed during vacations, absences and increased production demand times
• Operate equipment, including but not limited to: skid steer and loader. Experience is preferred.
• Report equipment problems and identify them to management.
• Light maintenance work and maintain the belt lines
• Complete equipment pre-shift report – if applicable
• Assist other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

• Properly follow all company policies and regulations for safe working procedures and environment
• Ability to maintain safe working conditions
• Self-motivated individual, must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, dust, etc.).
• Able to perform a variety of duties, some which may include plant clean-up, maintenance, operating equipment and other duties as assigned
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday, as required to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to learn quickly
• Must be willing to work weekends and overtime as dictated by customer demands.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen
