Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma.
• Proficient in computer and data entry tasks.
• Skilled in operating QC lab equipment and testing materials.
• Knowledge of aggregate testing procedures (gradation, XRF/chemistry, deleterious counts).
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Basic math and computing/technology skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; team-oriented.
• Self-motivated; able to work with limited supervision.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and provide I-9 documentation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production and certify test results for contracts or quality requirements.
• Maintain control charts and other required records.
• Operate testing equipment and company vehicles safely.
• Perform daily housekeeping and maintain a clean lab environment.

Job description

Rogers Group, Inc. is currently seeking an individual for theQUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIANbased in Staunton, VA.This candidate will be supporting our Virginia SMA quarry operations and should have experience in aggregate quality control.

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and will be responsible for a wide variety of quality control efforts including but not limited to testing materials produced to assure compliance with internal and external specifications, providing technical services and support to internal and external customer, supporting efforts to guarantee compliance with environmental agencies, understanding of chemical analysis, attention to detail, and maintaining control charts and other required records. The potential candidates for the role must be enthusiastic and have an uncompromising emphasis on safety.

Job Details:

• Wagesstarting at $21.00/hour depending on experience.
• Some positions require no experience and Rogers Group will train.

Responsibilities:

• Test selection of materials produced to ascertain production of quality materials in an effective and cost-efficient manner.
• Monitor production and certify test results for use in contract procurement or completion of job quality requirements.
• Maintain control charts and other records required.
• Operate testing equipment and company vehicles in a responsible and safe manner.
• Perform daily housekeeping operations and maintain a clean lab environment

• Demonstrable knowledge of aggregate testing procedures including gradations, XRF/chemistry testing, crushed count, deleterious count, basic geological knowledge.

• Ability to lift 50 pounds continuously throughout the day.
• Basic mechanical/repair skills.
• Basic math and computing/technology skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills; be able to work on a team.
• Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
