Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking a Quality Control Technician to ensure our ready mix concrete meets rigorous industry standards across commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects. The role involves testing materials, interpreting results, visual inspections, training staff, and maintaining meticulous records.

We welcome entry-level candidates and provide on-the-job training. ACI certification is a plus; associate or bachelor’s in a related field is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work variable shifts, including day and overnight pours.
• On-the-job training provided for newcomers to QC or concrete industry.
• ACI certification, or willingness to obtain it, is a plus.
• Degree preferred but not required in Materials Science, Concrete Management, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished ready mix concrete using industry-standard methods.
• Interpret test results and compare them to specifications and control limits.
• Conduct visual inspections of concrete products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.
• Deliver quality control training to production staff as directed by management or technical services.
• Maintain accurate records of tests, analyses, and quality-related activities.
• Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and regulations to improve QC processes.
