Position Overview: The Quality Control Supervisor oversees quality assurance activities during the 2nd shift to ensure all products meet regulatory and company standards. This role is crucial for maintaining food safety, supporting production teams, and fostering a quality-first culture across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control and Compliance

• Supervise QC Technicians during 2nd shift
• Report to QC Managers
• Ensure compliance with USDA, HACCP, GMPs, SQF
• Monitor production, perform audits, maintain documentation
• Investigate quality issues
• Verify critical control points daily

Collaboration and Problem-Solving

• Work with operations, sanitation, maintenance teams
• Support production in maintaining quality
• Escalate issues as needed

Training and Development

• Train staff on quality and safety protocols
• Stay updated on regulations and best practices

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain quality records
• Prepare reports for management
• Assist with audits and corrective actions

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related (preferred)
• 2+ years QA experience in food manufacturing
• Supervisory experience a plus
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, food safety standards
• Independent worker, quick decision-maker
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• SQF knowledge preferred
• Experience with USDA inspectors a plus
• Proficient in MS Office
• Experience in premium meat processing beneficial

Working Conditions

• Primarily in food production environment
• Refrigeration at 34-70°F, 8+ hours
• Stand for extended periods
• 2nd shift (approx. 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM)
• Overtime and weekends as needed
• Safety-sensitive position
