Job summary

Grunley Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Manager to assure the highest quality of construction services, coordinating with the on-site Superintendent, Project Manager, and Project Executive to meet contract requirements.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field (or equivalent with years of experience), US Citizenship, and a current USACE CQM Certificate.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of construction experience or an associate’s degree and a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience.
• Must have working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures and practices with the Corp of Engineers. This position requires a successful track record in all aspects of construction and construction practices.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Submittal Management: Develop Quality Control Plan for submission; Review and approve work plans; Review and approve product submissions.
• Plan for and Conduct Three – Phase Inspection Program: Preparatory Meetings and Reports; Initial Phase Inspections and Reports; Follow-up Inspections and Reports; Final Phase Inspections and Reports.
• Quality Control Inspections: Develop and maintain a site-specific test log; Examine materials and equipment to ensure compliance with submittals and contract requirements; Maintain log of non-compliance and implement corrective actions; Check for damaged or defective materials; Verify dimensional requirements; Verify as-built drawings are maintained.
• Daily Reports: Prepare, distribute, and maintain contemporaneous daily reports summarizing information.
• Safety Assistance: Photo documentation of all job-site accidents/incidents; coordinate with Safety Department; download photos within 24 hours with annotations.
