Job summary

Great Dane LLC is seeking a Quality Manager to own the plant-level Quality system under the Plant Manager and Corporate Director of Quality. You will lead a comprehensive program, define strategies, and drive KPI‑based improvements across QA, QC, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will collaborate with leadership to implement Lean manufacturing goals, analyze data, manage inspection, and train staff to ensure product quality and reliability while controlling costs.

Qualifications

  • Education: bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing Engineering. Other technical degrees accepted.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of related and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Quality Management System Experience – ISO, TS16949

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive product quality management program for Great Dane manufacturing location.
  • Collaborate with leadership for planning, execution, and oversight of the quality management program and continuous process improvement.
  • Define, develop, and implement short-term and long-term strategies related to quality management.
  • Develop/maintain Quality KPIs including Quality Gates and analyze for opportunities to optimize performance.
  • Use Lean Alert activities to drive product quality improvements and respond to issues.
  • Assist with Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies to improve operations; employ Lean methodologies.
  • Develops and analyzes statistical data to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectations for finished product.
  • Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives aligned with production procedures to maximize reliability and minimize costs.
  • Directs inspection and testing to maintain control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Plans, promotes, and organizes training related to product quality and reliability.
  • Investigates and addresses customer quality concerns.
  • Collaborate with quality and engineering to determine critical part features and tolerances; modify specs as needed.
  • Provide quality engineering support to operations for consistent application of quality techniques.
  • Resolve quality issues related to capability, tolerancing, and materials.
  • Identify problems, evaluate options, implement actions, and allocate resources.
  • Communicate Great Dane’s commitment to quality improvement.
  • Coordinate pre-launch production trial run process monitoring.
  • Perform duties per quality system requirements as the voice of the customer.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and Maintenance to resolve customer complaints.
  • Serve on Plant Senior Leadership Team supporting safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Other duties as assigned.
