Job summary

Cappella Grand Junction, operated by Christian Living Communities, is seeking a dedicated caregiver to meet residents’ daily personal care needs with compassion and professionalism.

The role supervises medications under a licensed nurse, supports ADLs, documents care, and communicates with residents, families and supervisors. Strong English, a high school diploma or GED, and medication certification are required; prior elder-care experience is preferred. This on-site position offers benefits.

Qualifications

• Medication certification required per state requirements (QMAP-A/L, Med Tech, Med Aide, Nurse Delegation).
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• One year elder care experience preferred.
• Proficient computer skills preferred.
• Strong self-management and organizational skills.
• Strong multi-tasking abilities with ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Attend to residents' personal care needs and assist with ADLs as requested or directed.
• Provide personal care services (bathing, dressing, meals, laundry) with attention to individual needs.
• Anticipate and report care needs to supervisor.
• Respond to family members' needs as appropriate.
• Maintain open communication with supervisor and peers about resident issues.
• Monitor resident safety and well-being.
• Report suspected abuse or misappropriation of resources as required.
• Notify supervisor of changes in health or status.
• Monitor and document residents' condition as directed.
• Assist with prescribed daily medication routines as appropriate under supervision.
• Notify RN/LPN of questions about medication records or supply.
• Ensure timely documentation including refusals of medication or treatment.
• Restock medication carts and storage areas with supplies.
• Attend and contribute to monthly staff meetings.
